Frascati AHHA Holsteiner mare v. Fasolt - Miss Ree Ree xx (deceased)

Frascati Holsteiner mare by Fasolt out of Miss Ree Ree XX

Frascati was a 16.3 hand approved American Holsteiner Horse Association (AHHA) mare by the last purebred Holsteiner stallion in the world, Fasolt. She was born in 1982 and bred by Nicki Jung of Locksley and formerly AAoBoHH. Frascati was Cloverlone's first Holsteiner broodmare and set the tone for all future generations. She inherited an uphill powerful shoulder from sire Fasolt and elastic movement from her Thoroughbred dam Miss Ree Ree. Miss Ree Ree was one of first TB mares to be approved in USA by the AAOBOHH. Fasolt was last purebred Holsteiner stallion to exist in the world. Having this old blood close up is quite rare these days.

Frascati was the dam of Cloverlone stallions, CHINN v. Champagne (v. VDL Chin-Chin) and BROADWAY boogie-woogie v. Locksley Spotlight (v. Churchill). She was also dam to the mare Caroline (full sister to CHINN) , sold to Mrs. Joan Irvine Smith of The Oaks, San Juan Capistrano CA. Caroline was a broodmare there many years. Her daughter, Lullabye by Ocean II (v. South Pacific) is retired at Cloverlone and may produce one last embryo to keep this Q stam alive.

Frascati was also the dam of Camille, v. Locksley Spotlight; full sister to stallion Broadway. She was a very tall mare with great elastic gaits and plenty of scope. She was approved main mare book Oldenburg with ISR OLD and only one point off premium. If the judge had not been turned away upon her magnificent entrance to the arena she would have no doubt had that point. She was dark bay with black spots. She had a dark bay filly by Cicero named Xena. That filly ended up in Florida and I have been unable to find her.

Frascati also produced two very handsome colts to Caracas, Carona and Conda. Frascati lived a long life and passed away at the age of 30. We were lucky to have owned her. Lendon Gray would have owned her if she had not injured her eye in the pasture at Locksley at the age of 4 years. I will never forget that day seeing her for the first time. Her presence can still be seen in the many young horses carrying her blood.
