CHINN (deceased) v. Champagne (v. VDL Chin-Chin) out of Frascati v. Fasolt

CHINN Holsteiner stallion by Champagne VDL Chin-Chin out of Frascati by Fasolt

CHINN (deceased) 1999 stallion by Champagne (VDL Chin-Chin) out of Frascati v. Fasolt produced many sport horses winning in hunters, jumpers, eventing and dressage. CHINN was our first homebred stallion out of one of the last mares by Fasolt (last purebred Holsteiner stallion in the world). We purchased his sire Champagne in 1986 and sold him to The Oaks (Mrs. Joan Irvine Smith of San Juan Capistrano CA) after the Soeul Olympics when his sire Chin Chin was 5th individually (jumpers). CHINN was a bit more fancy than his sire with longer lines and breathtaking elasticity. His ears nearly touched at the tips and he always had a long forelock to his nose. His nicknames earned over the years by his fans included Heartbreaker, Elvis and Chief. He was very protective over the farm, kept his spaces extremely neat, didn't like changes and chased the UPS trucks every time they came up the drive. His incredible character was passed on to his foals over many generations.

cZildjian by CHINN (1992) out of Stone Quiz and 3/4 brother to Cloverlone stallion C-Picasso was reserve or champion in the junior hunters every show out in the late 90's and early 2000's. cZappa (1995) was out of a grade pinto mare and purchased by Melissa Rivers as her jumper. Todd Minikus and Blair Cudemore called him the 'Jumping Fool' as he would jump anything you put in front of him. CHINN's half brother Chamois (Cireno) out of the lovely TB mare Flighty Birthday was also purchased by Morton Cappy Smith and later sold to Mrs. Joan Irvinie Smith. Chamois, along with his sire Chanpagne, stood stud at the Oaks for a number of years. Joe Montanna then purchased Chamois as his personal show hunter. Miss Julia by CHINN out of White Shoulders by Locksley Spotlight evented with a junior rider owner and successful through prelim.

CHINNS's full sister Carolyne was purchase by Mrs Joan Irvine Smith, The Oaks of San Juan Capistraino CA. Carolyne was dam to many International Jumper Futurity (IJF) horses including our mare Lullabye v. Ocean II v. South Pacific. Lullabye was 15th in the country with Todd Minikus. Todd visited and would have liked to take CHINN on the road. He was our personal stallion, pet to many and lived a good long life. He passed Jan 2018.

Cloverlone still has a couple of CHINN's direct progeny, stallion C-Picasso (1997) and mare Pristine (1999). Second generation progeny include the mare Hallelujah (2015) out of the Champion show hunter Rejoice (Moxie) by C-Picasso and American Girl (2008) by R-Saluut II out of Pristine. Hallelujah will be bred to Quiet Riot via embryo transfer prior to being available for sale. American Girl will be bred to Quiet Riot to carry her own foal. If you are interested in either of these crosses, pre foaling contract is available.
