Captain America, spotted Holsteiner, is one of the most rarely bred colored sport horse stallions ever. He is 3rd generation Cloverlone breeding with 96% Holsteiner/xx sport horse and only 4% appaloosa. His grand sire Locksley Spotlight by Churchill (HOL) was the first Holsteiner cross stallion with appaloosa coloring. He was bred to the Holsteiner mare Frascati by Fasolt to get the spotted Holsteiner stallion BROADWAY boogie-woogie in 1995. Broadway sired Cappy in 2008 from the premium imported Holsteiner verband mare B-Cinderella. Cinderella's full sister Fiona II had produced Clausen, a team horse for Germany (jumping).

Cloverlone is a small breeding farm recognizing great pedigrees but has not been interested in EU approvals in America due to the costs associated with stallion approvals. We find more success in producing top quality foals by knowing our stallions as intimately as our mares. The breeding of horses has become so expesive and sales will only produce a profit once the horses are under saddle and doing well. Taking into considereation the smaller numbers of foals produced, it is also wise that they be raised to a certain age in order to be sure of their career future. Cappy is capable of producing foals that not only jump with style for the hunter ring but also for jumpers and dressage. His filly Liberty (2018) out of a Cocktail Jet (Calato - Pilot) - Constant mare stam 95 has incredible tempo and suspension at the trot. She has not yet been jumped to know her potential there but she is very much a dressage prospect now. Cappy's second filly out of a Charmeur - Rosenthal mare has long elegant lines with beautiful movement. Made in America (aka Mia, 2019) may be an elegant hunter though she obviously has breeding for dressage.

The numbers may not exist to prove Cappy's place as a stallion but the quality of his foals physically and mentally is excellent. Cappy is available for cooled shipped semen and frozen. Please contact us for stud fee and terms.
